Youth Rugby
Woodlands Youth Rugby Club is a 501(c)3 organization support rugby for ages U13 through U19 high school rugby in the greater Woodlands and CISD areas. The club will also runs a U19 ladies team.
WYRC is an affiliate of the Woodlands Rugby Football Club and recognized as a club sport by the Conroe Independent School District and Klein Independent School District. Both KISD and CISD recognize WYRC as a private PE class for early release and in the CISD participant can receive a varsity letter for participation.
The WYRC was first organized in 2001 by members of the Woodlands Rugby and has continued to flourish under their guidance.
Despite its short existence the Woodlands Youth Program has developed some outstanding rugby players and these have included a number of Junior Eagles, namely:
Hamish Roberts – currently leading points scorer for the Junior Eagles and has played in three Junior World Cups at U19 and U20 levels
Nick Cook - Junior Eagle U19 level
Mitchell Earley – Junior Eagle U17 & U18 levels
Josh Alden – Junior Eagle U17 & U18 levels
