The Woodlands RFC again finished the year in the playoffs, but came up a few points short of returning to the Sweet 16s for the second year in a row. It is very exciting to see the influx of new talented young players and with some additional tweaking and experience the 2007-2008 campaign should be a good one. Our youth teams continue to grow and improve. The support of the coaches and parents alike have grown the Woodlands into one of the Premier High School Rugby Programs in the State. Both the U-19s and the U-17s did very well in the State Championships and aim to break into the National Playoffs next year.

WEST TU CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF – APRIL 27
WOODLANDS 31 – BOULDER 21
The Woodlands ere keen to avenge hammering they had taken the day before and playing with the strong wind, they immediately put Boulder under pressure. The Woodlands opened the scoring with a fine try by Schwab convert by Van Heerden. Minutes later Hoffmeyr crossed for the second try converted by Van Heerden. The Woodlands aback, particularly Dusablon and Schwab were carving holes in the Boulder midfield and in the fourteenth minute Schwab scored his second try with Van Heerden converting. A minute later Mitchell scored the fourth Woodlands try. At this point the Woodlands looked as though they were going to run away with the game but instead of managing the game by playing smart rugby, they attempted to try to score from all over the park. This allowed Boulder to get back into the game and in the 25th minute Boulder scored their first try which was converted.
